i want to build a kinetic bike! i have most of the pieces parts but go back and forth on configuration! 3 wheel recumbent or 2 wheel up right? the 3 wheeled wound launch hard while the 2 wheeler may burn rubber? i have a Schwinn 1970s Exercycle with a 50 or so pound flywheel i will connect this with the original crank {its huge} and have a output to a belt clutch and cvt either way should be lots of fun building and testing

Hey BFD, I like what you're doing and I think it's cool, but I'm gonna move the thread to the "Talk About Anything Else" section and create a subsection for stuff like this. I wanna keep the main board about human powered stuff, no engines or motors. I'm an old motorcycle guy and love the stuff that you're doing, and I see a need for having a place for such things. I'll try to get it set up within the next few minutes.

I actually created a new section called .... "Zing .....Putt Putt ..... Brap Brap!" its down towards the bottom of the board. I know that we have a few who build gas or electric bikes trikes and quads. I'll move all your gas enhanced stuff over to that section in a few.

this is about people powered stuff the legs spin the flywheel the clutch and trans allow max rpm at takeoff plus the legs and flywheel work at the same time thats why the CVT i may increase the flywheel to 200 lbs to chain breaking frame twisting tire shredding pile of engineering i may never perfect but its the pursuit that's the fun! now put this back

Three, maybe four. I think you're gonna want at least three with the clutch mechanism. Easier to launch. Now that I know what the hell is going on, I'm anxious to see it finished!
