It's coming up soon! Wednesday Dec. 19th will be Choppernite #62. Mark your calendars now!
Make plans to join the infamous annual WPB Freak Bike Militia's Nitemare before Christmas ride.
Talk it up on Facebook, phone a friend, text your buddies, just tell everyone to come!
All bikes are welcome but we really like the freaky ones. Decorate and load your bike up with tons of lights.
Prizes and minigames!
Who will win the Junkman's choice cup?!
Who will win the bike of the nite cup?!
Meet up is around 6:30 or 7:00pm. Different people need more or less time to get their wheels on.
We meet on Washington Rd, in the street. Corner of Washington Rd and Southern Blvd. It's a very calm street.
No parking at the Greek Church. Street ok, but none of the lots, gravel, paved, front, back, etc. Through NO fault of our own. And they asked nicely so I say we oblige out of the respect they have given our group over the years.
Ride out is 7:30 sharp. Every Choppernite. Don't even be a minute late or you will miss the ride!
Ride lasts about 2 hours, back at the cars around 9:45pm

Junkman is spot on. ALL is true! Thanks for beating me to this post. Anyone that says there was no prior notice, I shared the date of this Choppernite AT Halloween Choppernite 61 in October, AND on the Halloween Choppernite thread here.
PLEASE don't forget, the sun will be WAY down come Choppernite. REQUIRED BY LAW, a front white light, a rear red light. Orange (or amber) lights allowed anywhere but do not substitute for either of the previous. Putting a white in back, or a red in front is MORE illegal then having NO light. Dangerous. You can still ride with us, but you'll be illegal, arrogant, suicidal, and ignorant.

I left work at 4:00 to try and avoid rush hour traffic, It still took one and a half hours to get to the start of Choppernite.
Sitting in traffic I was wondering if it was worth a 3 hours drive to ride bikes for 2 hours. Well, is sure was worth it. We had a beautiful clear and slightly chilly night. Lots of cool bikes and awesome riders. It was a great way to start the Holiday season.
Notable: Alex, of the Dynamic Duo of Virginia and Alex had 500 lights on his bike! Virginia's bike was beautifully decorated too.
The nice thing about being a corker is you get to see the parade of bikes go by at least 6 times, and what a wonderous sight it was. Shout out to Jimmy who I saw in the pack but didn't get to talk to.
Last Choppernite Junkman's cup winner - Gemy, picked my new bike for the cup. thank you Gemy what an honor! I asked if I could make my pick right then instead of the next choppernite. I chose Eastwood's new bike. I liked that Eastwood got help from Alex for the welding. It is nice to have a professional welder in our group to help us make our dreams come true. One suggestion for next ride:
We had a nice big group on the ride back. It would be nice to stop under the bridge to see the murals. Nice Instagram spot. Also it would let slower riders catch up to the pack.
I look forward to Choppernite 63 on the third Wednesday of the third month of 2019 -- Mark your new 2019 calendar for Wednesday March 20, 2019. The first day of spring.
While you have your calendar out mark the second Saturday of every month for the HOLLYWEIRD ride.
I hope to see you there!

Gemy = Gemo, presenter and blesser of the Junkman Cup from last Choppernite.
Harvey was the winner of our Son of Bike of the Night Cup. Our previous winner, Kevin couldn't make it because work IS ALWAYS more important. 0 if my usual sarcasm. Kevin, just today relayed he is back in town, and I put him in touch with Harvey to get the cup. Im staying involved because I am a micromanager who cant let go. :-)
Really, just staying involve to see if I can be of any help.
As for making beneath the Royal Palm Bridge a stopping point, it is an awesome one. The reasons against it: A stopping point should be highly visible from the route. It's also not easy to continue West from beneath the bridge with 100+/- riders.
To stay constructive, we could easily continue NORTH on South Flagler from beneath the bridge. This could be a nice break up from the usual predictable route. I am known for NOT CHANGING ANYTHING without good reason. So if going North on South Flagler is ok, stopping under the bridge is a great idea. This will also be EASIER than waiting to turn LEFT on Lakeview Ave. This would could be a break from the usual, NOT a deviation... so far. As I know how many of our riders like that we (the point) go through CityPlace, our Freak bikes get seen IN motion instead of parked at a show. We'll implement this for this coming Choppernite and see how it goes.
I'm now going to post a ... post about next Choppernite... but... you've probably read that first because you're interested in the future MORE than the past! Smart!!
