This past Wednesday, October 16, 2013, we took our Chyna girl to the vet. She wasn't feeling well and hadn't been eating.
We had her in two weeks before, getting her the yearly shots with the rest of the gang. Since that appointment she had already lost 1 1/2 lbs. of weight.
The vet kept her for a couple of hours while they ran her blood work and gave her fluids as she was very dehydrated.
The call that came, is the worst possible thing that could happen. Chyna was in full blown kidney failure. We were told that all parameters of telling the kidney functions were abnormal. Her bone marrow was pretty much non-existent and was not producing any red blood cells. Our little girl was a very sick kitty. The vet said that no matter what we tried to do in way of getting her better, would only help for a day and then Chyna would be sick again.
The decision we had to make is one of the hardest things to do. We had to say good bye to our beautiful Chyna Girl.
Chyna was one of our adopted cats. She spent the first 13 years of her life with my brother and sister-n-law. When they moved into their new home the dynamics of their house changed. We were there for them and took Chyna into our home to be with her sister Missy. Chyna was with us exactly 1 year on October 5, 2013.
Chyna loved going out sitting on the porch, or hanging out with Jim and Missy girl in the office. When we would have a little argument Chyna would come over to us and stand between us as if to say see you can't argue now. She loved sitting for hours on momma Chainsaw's lap watching tv while Momma petted her, when Chyna got tired of that she would sit on the back of the chair, in order to monitor where everyone was. As soon as she would see me heading to the bedroom she would beat me there waiting for me to climb in and pet her. Chyna's purr has been the loudest purr that I have ever heard on a kitty. When we brought the lost litter in, Chyna took it with strides with only small complaints about Goofy Boy being so clumsy around her. Chyna was even willing to show the lost litter what to do with good catnip in a box. She loved playing with her Missy girl, didn't matter what they did, running thru the hallway, playing on boxes, under the kitchen table & chairs or even with the fishing line. One of her favorite spots to lay was among the bears that momma chainsaw collects displayed on top of the tower of boxes.
Chyna, I miss you so much each day and even though I know you are in a better place, every day I will wish you were here with us.
