"It will most likely be too heavy to ride long distance, but will be able to use it to continue my jig." Comments ..... Chainsaw .... "Nothing is too heavy in FreakBike terms. Lots of hundred pound plus bicycles out there and THEY GET RIDDEN! You just gotta chose your riding route. No hills, plenty of hot girls to ride past and always .... I mean always ..... an ice cream shop or good bar! Nice looking design. What type of handles for the beast. It looks like a long reach. Good simple jig. It should give you years of Freakability!" Ornery37 ..... "Thanks, got it off the jig and it is not as heavy as I though it would be. I have decided to go with front and rear gears. My 25 or 26" ape hangers just showed up today. The 13" ape hangers was a reach." Ornery37 ... "second is with longer bars(the 20" wheels are just roller to see where I need the seat) Yes, the jig has make it so much nicer, I have built 2 bikes just by eying it and just took tool long, then I would notice some slightly crooked and I would cut it off and have to redo it." Comments .... Philphine ...... "Looks good. the jig too. I still haven't made a decent one for myself. I wouldn't worry about the weight if I rides good. My favorite cruiser weighs about 70lbs. I keep meaning to finish something lighter, but it rides good enough that I'm in no hurry to do it." Ornery37 ..."thanks, I am really enjoying building bikes, so needed jig, and adjusting it as I go. All, is just metal I had lying around mine and my parents house. the bike seems it is going to be good, I used a thick wall tube I had gotten, so thought is would be very heavy, but to my surprise it is not that heavy." Giggles ... "It is looking really good. Cant' wait to see more of your creations."

Ornery37 posted .... "got to ride it working out some issue, but rides great!" "also, got the rear shifter working " Comments .... Chainsaw .... "Cool, all bikes need a little figuring out and tweaking. The bike looks good!" Philphine .... "looks like a rider." Junkman .... "I like your bike! I'd like to see your recumbent. Skateboard decks are the perfect blend of light weight and super strength. Perfect for backrest. Some padding and you're good to go. I have also used a weight bench seat cut down. Can I see another shot of your shifter, any construction details? looks like something I would use on my bikes. Oh yeah, welcome to the forum." Ornery37 .... "Thanks all! Hi Junkman, I will try and get better pics of the shifter and how I installed (course it is not done, need to figure on how I will put a handle on it), also will get pics of the recumbent sometime this week."

Ornery37 posted .... "here is the shifter set up, all I did was just cut off a piece of old handle bar (slightly longer than the shifter) and tack it to the bracket I built for the free wheel pulley." "Now just needing some time to build the shifter lever."

Comments .... Junkman .... "Wow, you've got lots of good ideas! Thanks for posting the pictures. Nice 'bent, I bet its fast. Looks like you could lose track of time in your garage! Lots of fun stuff to play with." Ornery37 ..... "thanks! but the shifter is not an original ideal of mine, I saw someone do something like this on a top tube, making a shifter like the old muscle bikes from the 60's, but I do not remember who. Yes, have lots of toys, kept finding bikes for around 5 - 20 bucks. But, stopping before I run out of room  I have been cleaning out a house I was leasing to own (they decided to quit paying and trashed the house). I have been finding some interesting stuff. Several, items have made it to the bike, the bike seat was item found. Here is an old metal swing that I found and made it into a rear rack. Also, starting a seat back with a horse shoe for the top." "when on the ground will try and get better one of the rack."

Comments ..... Junkman ... "That old swing seat will make a nice bike rack, going to paint it or keep the bad ass patina? I love to watch people "Grab and Fab" Ornery37 .... "Thanks, I been thinking on keeping it the way it is. I was only thinking of painting the bike frame, but not sure yet."Grab and Fab" I like that! I cannot seem to throw anything old away." Ornery37 .... "more found items, leather pants. they do not fit me, so leather seat back." "then read up on someone using a large seat clamp on the mountain bike shifter and now have a Jockey shifter."
