"Steampunk/ Raygun Gothic- the future that never was" is our theme voted on by our members here on Freakbike Nation Pages. Wednesday March 16, 2016 7:30 roide out SHARP
ANYone on ANY bike is welcome but FREAKBIKES HIGHLY encouraged. It's not unheard of for Freakbikes to get preferential parking, Freakbike rider only minigames etc. Don't have one? Borrow one. Buy one. Or, WHOA(!) MAKE one!
Helmets and lights HIGHLY encouraged. Brakes on your bike HIGHLY encouraged. If you INSIST on riding brakeless, PLEASE ride in the back. (Fixed, I’ll call 'with brakes' because I know. Flintstone brakes (shoes) are NOT brakes.) If you insist on doing tricks on a group ride, you need to grow up. It's not the night for it.
Kids under 16 need a helmet as required by law.
Meet up is around 6:30 or 7:00pm. Different people need more or less time to get their wheels on.
We meet on Washington Rd, in the street. Corner of Washington Rd and Southern Blvd. It's a very calm street.
No parking at the Greek Church. Street ok, but none of the lots, gravel, paved, front, back, etc. Through NO fault of our own. And they asked nicely so I say we oblige out of the respect they have given our group over the years.
Ride out is 7:30 sharp. Every... Choppernite.
Questions? Hit me here.
If your going to share this, link to it.
The Freakbike Nation Pages is the authority, not Spacebook, Yahoo, Miami Blog Scene etc. Other places might be right, but THIS is never wrong.

Choppernite 51 was a lesson in following instructions if not also complete withdrawal from our voted on theme.
We've had some people thinking they're riding Choppernite by meeting us halfway to downtown. Not so. To be considered having ridden Choppernite you meet at the designated meet up spot. Could this wording mean I might deviate one day from the original meet up spot? It's been done before. If you want to know where the meet up spot is, THIS is the place to get the correct info, the source. No notice was given here on the forum because if ANYTHING EVER can trump what is here on the forum it's what is said by ride captains at the meet up spot at the meet up time. Roads close, weather changes, and cops happen.
Our Choppernite 51 had it's screw ups and it's amazing moments.
Bad news first. Our last two cup winners haven't picked up, over 10+ years, when Choppernite is. Except for Halloween Choppernite or a one week deadly weather postponement, it's always 3rd Wednesday of every 3rd month. So both cups were not only AWOL, but a week later one is still completely gone, the previous owner hasn't made another and the OTHER trophy has missed two opportunities to get it to me. Situations like this, where FREAKBIKE RIDERS AND BUILDERS don't respect the intention and the however short tradition of the cups suggests to me we should let it go. Our riders like Tina, Machine Age Victim, Hindsight Engineering, these riders motivate me to keep this going. Thanks to theses riders.
A few GOOD moments from Choppernite, we played a mini-game called Steam Engine that was for Freakbike riders only (Whoa!). We had 3 or 4 Freakbike riders come up to the line to play and one NOT ON a Freakbike that night. I informed her it was for Freakbike riders only but if it's ok with the riders who DID ride Freaky, she could play as well. And Elizabeth WON! Bicyclery, the location of the ???? donated gift certificate was already one of her favorite bike shops. A big win for her, us and Bicyclery.
Our missing Junky Lemon trophy went to one of our long time riders and the NAMESAKE of the trophy JUNKMAN(!) chosen by me since last winner couldn't remember our schedule we've had for 10+ years.
Our Bike of the Nite Cup went to Tina... again. His trike was over the top being an original rat while also forgoing the usual easy rat paint scheme and those awesome frame skirts. Original while looking natural rat. Again, chosen by me since our previous winner couldn't remember when Choppernite was.
A lot of riders grow impatient with the ride out time coming to late. Should we hold fast with a same ride out to ride back South? lmk.
Of the riders who stayed around, it was almost all of the, and almost only Freakbikes. So we had a Freaky bike ride back to the Greek Church.
Keep eyes open for poll for Choppernite 52. THAT Choppernite will be June 15th, 2016. HEARD it here first! ...well if you know the frequency, you already knew when Choppernite was. Pics and poll for next Choppernite soon.
