"Swing Bike Night" is our theme voted on by our members here on Freakbike Nation Pages.
You do NOT have to have a swing bike or even a FREAKBike but it MIGHT HELP!
Wednesday June 15, 2016
7:30 ride out SHARP
ANYone on ANY bike is welcome but FREAKBIKES HIGHLY encouraged. It's not unheard of for Freakbikes to get preferential parking, Freakbike rider only minigames etc. Don't have one? Borrow one. Buy one. Or, WHOA(!) MAKE one!
Helmets and lights HIGHLY encouraged. Brakes on your bike HIGHLY encouraged. If you INSIST on riding brakeless, PLEASE ride in the back. (Fixed, I’ll call 'with brakes' because I know. Flintstone brakes (shoes) are NOT brakes.) If you insist on doing tricks on a group ride, you need to grow up. It's not the night for it.
Kids under 16 need a helmet as required by law.
Meet up is around 6:30 or 7:00pm. Different people need more or less time to get their wheels on.
We meet on Washington Rd, in the street. Corner of Washington Rd and Southern Blvd. It's a very calm street.
No parking at the Greek Church. Street ok, but none of the lots, gravel, paved, front, back, etc. Through NO fault of our own. And they asked nicely so I say we oblige out of the respect they have given our group over the years.
Ride out is 7:30 sharp. Every... Choppernite.

If your going to share this, link to it.
The Freakbike Nation Pages is the authority, not Spacebook, Yahoo, Miami Blog Scene etc. Other places might be right, but THIS is never wrong.

I will be very interested to see how many swing bikes show up.
Here's my 2 cents on the theme.
we should be working to be MORE inclusive and less exclusive.
If you don't have a swingbike, you're not in the theme.
Simple themes like the "Moustache Ride" made it very easy for everyone to get in on the theme.
Just sayin'

You bring up good points Junkman. These concerns are mine as well. ...BUT... We are a group of Freakbike builders and rid... ...let me step back. I always ask for theme ideas. These go on a list. The oldest five are put to a vote. The winner is our theme. The four... other theme suggestions (respect at the suggestions) go to the bottom of the list to come around again in about 3-4 years. Swing bike nite was suggested. Came around on the list. Was voted on. And won. Now... truth time.. I WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO VOTED! NO ONE ELSE VOTED. FIRST EVER to be only me. NO shenanigans. Poll went up, stayed up for almost two months LIKE USUAL and only one vote. SO you COULD correctly simply say i picked the theme. This supposed truth would be lying by omission. Now, to focus on the positive. Our theme could seem exclusive. It's actually themed to be a showcase of our members who have or CAN/will build a swing bike. The NON-swing bike riders should be in for a bike ride they should expect. To see Freakbikes whether they are on one or not. All this in defence of my vote, not in defence of the topic suggestion or no one else's voting.

Junkman,
Your one of my favorites. Strong, respectful, and friendly enough to share with me something that goes against the grain to you. You will always have my ear my friend.

A big part of the Choppernite theme is for everyone to dress up in theme. Even if you're riding an ordinary non-freaky bike.
What kind of costume do you wear for "Swing Bike" nite??
We shall see, I know of one rider who has a very original, not your typical "Swing bike"
--------------
A bigger part of Choppernite for me is see old friends and make some new ones... And to see some cool bikes... The theme of the ride is just icing on the cake.
See you there!
--------
I'm throwing out this suggestion: June rides are always Pirate nite, your costume gets more awesome every year.
and the October ride is always "Mad Max Nite" again, the costume gets better every year...
Thanks for your ear.

Junkman, your suggestions have made the list. MUCH appreciated.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Our Choppernite was very nice! The confused riders who can't remember where we meet, WHEN we meet, how we get information etc, were NOT there to voice their displeasure personally. Which is OK with me! :-) !!
We rode out on time, used our usual route, got in on time, played a fun mini game and picked new trophy winners.
Our mini game, being swing bike night involved a mini game which ONLY swing bikes could win.
UNFORTUNATELY (!), our only swing bike rider couldn't do it. It WAS hard though. Eric did have a rad swing bike. Few could have imagined it, fewer could have built it, and only ONE man could do it AND show up for our Choppernite. He didnt win the mini game because im a jerk like that. No winning by default. BUT he did take one of our Bicyclery gift cards! Easily.
Our Son of Bike of the Night Cup, picked by Tina, went to Eric of course! Rightly so!
Last months winner of the Junky Lemon, Junkman, wonderfully decided to ReNamE the cup to Junkmans Choice! AND his choice was Hurricane Andrews "Gender Bender" stretch bike. This adds AWESOME back story to the cups existence.
We'll see NEXT month, whether it will BE Junkmans choice, or if Hurricane Andrew will have the pick. GOOD either way.
HEARD [read] IT HERE FIRST!
NEXT CHOPPERNITE will be OCTOBER 26th! LAST Wednesday in October.
Thanks to those of you still trusting and checking the source!
